What is GIFT?
Green Initiatives For Tomorrow (GIFT) was conceived by Ricoh to help us all work towards solutions to stop climate change. If everyone makes small changes in their daily lives to reduce their carbon (CO2) footprints, together we will make a big impact.
For every 10 people that pledge to reduce their CO2 footprints, Ricoh and the Ricoh Women’s British Open promise to plant one tree in Africa. The more pledges we receive, the more trees that we will plant, so be sure to suggest this page to your friends.
By reducing our carbon footprints through small changes in our daily lives, and Ricoh planting more trees to consume our carbon dioxide, we can bring ourselves one step closer to a better environment.

GIFT In 2011
Last year the Ricoh Women’s British Open GIFT initiative was a great success, with players, spectators and the broader audience all doing their bit to reduce their carbon footprint by supporting the initiative.
During the 2011 competition, Ricoh committed to planting 10 trees for every player pledge and 1 tree for 10 people that pledged their support either online or on-site at the Championship. A number of players competing in the 2011 Championship pledged their support along with 4850fans online and another 767 pledges made by spectators on site. The total number of GIFT pledges collectively addressing the issues of global warming within the world of golf was 5637, resulting in another 1007 trees planted.
